If I may, I’d like to begin the recap with a thank you to Miss Stephanie, for celebrating my year of employment with her by buying us a delicious lunch from Boston Market yesterday. I think I’m still full…😋 I told her I could not believe I have been with her a year since time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s just what we’ve been having since I met her!
This week has been busy and I thought I did pretty good with my lessons so far, the course is self paced and once purchased, you have it for life. So I’m not stressing too much about getting through it quickly, yet I do feel a sense of urgency…now that I realize my website needs to be redone, and possibly my blog as well. There is so much material that covers the legal aspects, I worry I may need a lawyer’s degree to make sense of the course. I’m to the lesson module about all the legal disclaimers you must put on your site if you have partnered with an affiliate, there is so much to read, I’m glad I’m not on a time limit to get the course done.
I remember trying this before, a few years ago when I was a baby blogger, I thought it wasn’t working because I didn’t follow directions properly, however, the reason was because WordPress doesn’t allow ads unless you have a premium account. This here account is free, my writer’s website is not…so that’s the one I should rework and try the affiliate marketing on. I could be wrong however, I’ll just have to finish the course and find out. I do know it involves putting links to companies products and or services directly on your site, when someone clicks said link, you receive a commission. Anyone can do this and there are probably step-by-step instructions (in fact, I know there are) somewhere on the internet, I just felt like I might have missed something importsant that the course could teach me-now I know I’m right. As in, the legal ramifications if you don’t do it right! Not following the rules can get you in trouble with the FTC, we don’t want that to happen, so suffice it to say, I have a lot of studying and reading to do!
Besides, paying money for the course means I’m more likely to see it through and apply what I’ve learned so that I get my money back, and my money’s worth out of it. She does advise to finish the course before applying for any affiliate links, so don’t worry that I’m going to get all salesy with you any time soon. 😉
Let me know if you have any questions or comments and I’ll answer them if I can. I’m sorry if my story yesterday was cheesy, I’ll try to do better next week! I was in kind of a hurry to go spend time with my hubby…ya can’t fault me for that. I didn’t get a story done for this week’s Weekly Knob, however, I do write daily at 100 Naked Words on Medium if you ever want to check those out. I appreciate all of my readers and followers and want to do what makes you happy and keeps you interested, feel free to give me feedback when necessary, it keeps me focused and grounded. I hope to see you all back here tomorrow, have a wonderful Saturday and I’ll see you then, on the patio! 😎
