Today is the day I find out what is going on with my neck and what they are going to do about it. I’m off to visit the neurosurgeon at 2pm today, wish me luck! I have been dealing with numbness in my hands to the point that I keep dropping things. I can’t feel well enough to put on my own jewelry hardly, much less make any. (not that I have in a while). My shoulder blades have been numb for a few years, that wasn’t as bothersome as my hands though.
I just want to get my prayer warriors on board and ask that whatever they decide to do, it fixes my problems of numbness, my pain and that recovery time is quick. I’d like to get the surgery over with, but then again, I don’t want to be out of commission for the holidays. What do you think you would do? The bad thing is, once I recover from this, I’ll be looking into a total knee replacement next. Ugh. What a year this will be.
I just wanted to update everyone on the situation in case things happen faster than I expect. I will still try to keep up with my writing, thank God for voice texting, right? I will keep you all posted on my results, thanks for reading, following, and being a part of my family. Love you all!
There are so many reasons for me to say we are blessed today! First and foremost, the message at church this morning was that to be blessed was said to be on the right road. I know that for me, going to church on Sundays to worship and praise God means that I will have a good week. I totally credit Him for making David’s surgery go swimmingly and I just feel better in general all week, knowing He is with me…us.
Secondly, in some sense, David is feeling better today, having plugged off his catheter and using the restroom normally. This is good news and hopefully his catheter removal tomorrow will go well. If it wasn’t coming out of his abdomen, I wouldn’t even worry, but it is. I’m certain the procedure will go well, I just hope it isn’t painful for him. He also was able to eat something more substantial than soup today, since he finally went no. 2, lol.
Other than that, there’s been a lot of sitting around on the couch since he still didn’t feel well in general. Sinus infection or something has given him a constant, nagging, dull headache, and he still tires easily. I was able to fit it a couple more episodes of my Netflix series, Orange is the New Black. I’m on season two episode four now. I can’t tell you how good this show is, you should check it out for yourselves.
Someone has had enough of this sitting around! Does she not look bored to death? I feel her pain, however, if I was down, I’d want company too. Also, my son’s girlfriend sent me a pic of the baby, saying that she told her to smile for grandma, so she did! Lol. Don’t you love her owl suit?? I used to collect owls, once upon a time.
Another blessing for sure! Seriously, I cannot wait to meet this little girl! Josh has orientation to a new staffing agency on Tuesday, say a prayer they place him in a permanent job this time!! Then, he can move forward with his plan to get his own place, a vehicle, and make his way back home to Texas, in time. Also, his ex was kind enough to send him a pic of his other daughter and he shared it with me. Meet Delaney, now 7 yrs old. I don’t know why the change of heart, I’m just glad they are now communicating. She probably feels save in the knowledge that he gave up his rights and is now concentrating on his new family, as is she. Still, I miss her.
Top all that off with the news that the insurance has already paid the doctor and the hospital their part of the bills, and this has been a blessed day indeed. Join me tomorrow (not early though) for Motivational Monday. Not sure what it will be yet, rest assured it will be helpful. 😊
I am so happy to post an update on the kitchen remodel. We got our cabinets today, and although they are naked, I think they’re beautiful! They will be getting stained on Wednesday, God willin’ and the creek don’t rise!
Notice the freshly painted walls in the background too! Once we get trim and crown mould up, it should really pop. I just want to have my kitchen back and functioning again! Not whining mind you, but all this take out is threatening to sabatoge my diet! I try to be good but not cheating is more difficult with take out food. Ok, and temptation is strong here at the holidays.
Another update I’m proud to show off is my new grand baby with the blanket I made her. They just got it today and she already has it wrapped around her chubby little body. I need to have her send me a picture showing the whole nursery, so I can see how well it matched the theme. Anyway, Taylor said she loved it, as well as the other gifts we sent.
I’ll keep y’all posted as changes happen and improvements are made. Thanks for following along and all of your comments, prayers and encouragement. Have a warm night y’all!
I thought that today I’d show you how much we got done in the kitchen this weekend, since that was what took up the bulk of our time, however, looking at the pictures doesn’t explain much. I”m here to tell you, my husband worked his fanny off while I stayed holed up in the office, trying to get as much writing done as possible to complete the NaNoWriMo exercise. (I helped when he needed it) Anyway, he got the ceiling scraped while I was at church on Sunday, and Saturday he did all the taping and bedding and necessary wall prep so that it is ready for paint. He also installed some electrical boxes and painted some trim in the hallway and living room that still needed to be done.
We took some time out to go do a little shopping for a small microwave, and the paint color, as well as the color for the cabinets. We think we have chosen what kind of granite we want for the counter tops too. We did a little shopping yesterday for the new grand baby as well, since I finished the blanket. (I didn’t want to send one little old blanket in the mail, that just seemed silly!) Now I just need to put some filler in the top of the oversized box we used, lol, and wrap it and mail it.
To everyone out there with a computer, today is also Cyber Monday. Again, I fall into that trap of not knowing what to buy, I’m one of those people that like to get someone what they want, and who knows what anyone wants at this point? Except one of my sons, who still thinks Christmas is all about what he wants, lol. HE certainly has a list prepared. There are hundreds of places determined to get you to part with your money today, Amazon being one of them. My inbox is chock-a-block full of the others, sending me the best deals with whatever the percentage off it is they are offering. Amazon seems the best choice, since they offer everything from (toy) firetrucks to furbies, dvds to dishwashers and every electronic gadget you can think of. They have Deals of the Day, Lightening Deals and, if you are a member of Prime, special discounts ought you too! The deals don’t stop today though, so don’t feel pressured. Next week starts the 12 days of Deals and you find out all about that come Dec. 4th.
Well, that’s all I have for today-come back tomorrow for an update on how my husband and Dad did on their doctor visits tomorrow and whatever else I think of to feature between now and then. A good bit of news to report is, one of my articles is to be in next month’s VitaBella magazine! I will share that link as soon as I get it. Not sure if I will get paid, but hey- I’ll at least be published, yea!! I’m off now to go start the process of writing another article or essay, this time for a definite paycheck (if it gets accepted, of course), so wish me luck!
